  8. Enables you to reorganise files and directories into virtual directories
  9. or 'Groups'. Groups and their contents are displayed to the user in a file
  10. manager style lister. Files can be accessed using the mouse and user-defined
  11. actions can be assigned to different filetypes.
  12.  
  13. Items within a particular Group can be physically stored absolutely anywhere
  14. (e.g. hard-disk, cd-rom, floppy etc.) yet they appear as if they all belong
  15. to the same directory. If you have a hard-drive and/or a large collection of
  16. cd's or floppies, Formation works like a an interactive disk catalogue
  17. allowing easy cross-referencing of files by theme.

  19. Formation provides a sophisticated search engine which includes filters for
  20. text strings, dates and filetypes. The results of each search can be saved
  21. to a Formation Group, copied to a new drawer or archived.

  29.    Files and directories can now be dropped directly into a 'Group' from
  30.    Workbench or DOpus.

  32.    'Hide' mode now uses an AppIcon instead of the old title bar. This means
  33.    that if (for some strange reason ;-{ ) you prefer to use Opus listers to
  34.    navigate through your directories you can still take advantage of Formation's
  35.    comprehensive filetype handling (as defined in Action Prefs) by just dropping
  36.    a file on to the icon. Doing so will bring up the Actions requester.

  38. * GUI now sports 'cool-look' icon gadgets and changes made in string gadgets
  39.   take effect immediately (i.e. no need to hit the return key). String gadgets
  40.   now respond instantly to input (no need to hit RETURN) and interact with
  41.   Listers.

  43. * I have changed the Formation font (FormFont) to a smaller pitch. It also now
  44.    colour. This only affects the icons that appear in the lister and the select
  45.    file/path gadgets. I think it looks nice and aids readability.

  47. * File size and date information now appears in the main lister when in Browser
  48.    mode or when a directory contained within a Group is selected.
